Biography

Jang Woo-hyuk is a K-pop singer who launched his career as a member of the platinum-selling boy band H.O.T. before moving on to other projects, including the chart-topping group jtL and a thriving solo career. Woo-hyuk was born on May 8, 1978, in Daegu, South Korea. He joined H.O.T.'s lineup in 1996 and remained with the group until its breakup in 2001, winning multiple Golden Disc Awards and releasing two Number 1 albums along the way. Following the group's dissolution, he partnered with his former bandmates Tony Ahn and Lee Jae-won to form another boy band, jtL. The group topped the South Korean charts with its 2001 debut, Enter The Dragon, and released two additional albums that both charted within the Top 5. When the group disbanded in 2003, he began plotting a solo career. No More Drama, his solo debut, was released in 2005 and charted at number 8, eventually selling more than 50,000 copies. His next release, My Way, reached number 5 in 2006. Two EPs — Am the Future and Back to the Memories — both arrived in 2011 and charted within the Top 20. He starred in shows like Love in the Office and The Secret Angel during the 2010s and then resumed his music career during the early 2020s, when the album I Feel Hope reached number 43 on South Korea's Top 100 Albums chart.
