Biography

Jan Veenje, born on June 9, 1966, in Zuidwolde, Netherlands, is a Dutch pianist known professionally as Jan Vayne. Vayne began piano lessons at age four and won a first prize at age ten. In 1984, Vayne enrolled at the conservatorium in Zwolle, graduating with a soloist diploma. Career milestones include appearances on Dutch television talk shows and several CD releases. Notable albums include Colours of My Mind (1991) and Living Colours (1992). In 1997, Vayne performed at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington DC for the second-term inauguration of President William Clinton. Vayne collaborated with Armin van Buuren on the album Classical Trancelations (2004). Discography releases include collaborations with Martin Mans and Petra Berger.
