Biography

Born on 6 December 2001 in Daegu, South Korea, Park Jae-chan (Korean: 박재찬; born December 6, 2001), also known by the stage name Jaechan (Korean 재찬), is a triple-threat entertainer celebrated for his work as a singer, actor, and songwriter. He became hooked on music in middle school after hearing Justin Bieber and set his sights on a professional music career at age 18, cutting his teeth as the rapper of Dongkiz in 2019, who released their debut single album, Dongkiz on the Block, that year, with Jaechan serving as a writer and producer. In 2020, he formed the sub-group Dongkiz I:Kan with fellow Dongkiz member Munik and released the single album Y.O.U. His success in the K-pop landscape has also dovetailed with his acting career, and in 2022 he rose to fame for his portrayal of Choo Sang-woo in the drama series Semantic Error. That year, he was featured on the Korea Power Celebrity 40 - Rising Star list by Forbes. Jaechan branched out as a solo artist in 2023 with his first solo mini album JC Factory, comprising five self-composed songs including the lead single "Hello." JC Factory went to number ten on South Korea's Circle Album Chart.
