J. Vincent Edwards, born on June 20, 1947, in England, is a British singer who gained prominence through his role in the musical Hair in 1968. His early career included recording several singles, notably "Thanks" (1969), which later appeared on various compilation albums. Edwards also contributed to the soundtrack of Bloomfield. Transitioning into songwriting, he collaborated with Pierre Tubbs to write "Right Back Where We Started From", a hit for Maxine Nightingale that reached number 8 in the UK Singles Chart in November 1975 and number 2 in the US in May 1976. Additionally, Edwards wrote songs with Miki Antony and Kris Ife. He was part of the trio Star Turn on 45 (Pints), which had a UK hit with "Pump Up the Bitter" in 1988. Edwards released his solo album Thanks in 1970.
