Izaline Francisca Juanita Calister, born on March 9, 1969, in Curaçao, is a Dutch-Curaçaoan singer and composer known for her work in calypso and jazz-influenced music. She moved to the Netherlands in 1987, studying administrative economics at Groningen University before pursuing music at the Prins Claus Conservatorium. Calister gained recognition when she joined Jasper vanât Hofâs project Pili Pili, replacing Angélique Kidjo. She later sang with the German group Dissidenten, recording the album Live in Europe. In 2000, she released her debut solo album Soño di un muhé, blending rhythmic Curaçaoan music with jazz elements. Her subsequent albums include Mariposa (2002), Krioyo (2004), and Kanta Hélele (2006). She is known for singing in Papiamentu, her mother tongue.
