Biography
International Observer is a British-New Zealand musical duo formed by Tom Bailey, former lead singer of the Thompson Twins. The project began in New Zealand after Bailey's departure from the Thompson Twins and subsequent group Babble. International Observer gained initial recognition through festival performances in New Zealand, leading to their debut album Seen, released in 2001. The album featured MÄori visual artist Rakai Karaitiana and was initially distributed by the IO Audio label before being picked up by Different Drummer in the UK. The duo released All Played Out in 2005 exclusively in New Zealand on the Round Trip label. In 2007, Heard was released internationally through Dubmission Records. Subsequent releases include Felt (2009) and Touched (2014).
