Biography

Infadels was formed in 2003 in Hackney, London, England, by drummer Alex Bruford, guitarist Matthew Gooderson and vocalist Bnann Watts; the trio entered the music scene with a raw electronic‑rock sound that combined synthesiser layers and energetic percussion. Their breakthrough came with the 2005 single "Give Yourself To Me" (Reality TV)" and the "Love Like Semtex" single, released in 2006, which established their presence on the indie circuit. The band signed with Wall of Sound and issued their debut album We Are Not the Infadels in 2006, followed by the single "Girl That Speaks No Words". In 2008 they released Universe in Reverse on 23 January, supported by the singles "Make Mistakes" (23 March) and "Free Things For Poor People" (1 June), the latter reaching number one on the Indie Singles chart. The group toured extensively, performing over 150 shows across 20 countries and headlining festivals in China, Korea, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. Their final studio album, The Future of the Gravity Boy, was released in March 2012, after which the band disbanded the same year; Infadels ceased activity on 1 September 2012, marking the end of their decade‑long contribution to electronic rock.
