IFA Wartburg was a Swedish student band formed in 1984 by Magnus Michaeli and Nils Lundwall. Their lyrics were written in German and often evoked the vocabulary of the GDR. The band released their debut album Im Dienste des Sozialismus in 1998, which included notable tracks such as "Frau Gorbatschowa tanzt Bossanova" and " (FDJ)Freie Deutsche Jugend". IFA Wartburg toured extensively across Germany and Switzerland from 1998 to 1999. The band disbanded in 1999. Their music gained significant online attention in the mid-2020s, with their streaming account gaining over 50,000 monthly listeners in 2024 and their video streaming channel amassing over 3.9 million views in May 2025.
