Cliffroy Taylor, known professionally as I.â¯Wayne, was born on 6â¯Augustâ¯1980 in Portmore, Jamaica, and is a roots reggae singer. Raised by his aunt and her husband, the noted keyboardist Ansellâ¯Collins, I.â¯Wayne began performing at age seven and later joined the school group Vibesâ¯Machine, gaining experience in local clubs such as Cactus and Asylum. His breakthrough came with the 2012 single "Can't Satisfy Her", which entered the influential Hotâ¯97 playlist and showcased a new wave of roots reggae. In 2005 I.â¯Wayne signed with VPâ¯Records and released his debut album Lavaâ¯Ground, featuring the singles "Living in Love" and "Can't Satisfy Her", which reached number five on the Top Reggae Albums chart. Subsequent releases included the albums Bookâ¯ofâ¯Life (2007) and Lifeâ¯Teachings (2011), both charting within the top five.
