Biography

hy4_4yh, a Japanese pop group formed in 2005 in Tokyo’s Akihabara district, began as the five‑member ensemble YO_OY before shortening to hy4_4yh after lineup changes. The group’s early output included the 2008 singles "Mimirara Mirai" and "Katte ni Cinderella II", establishing a youthful pop‑rock sound that attracted a dedicated fan base. Chronologically, the group released its debut studio album Hyper Yo Ban in 2006, followed by Hyper Yo Ban 2 in 2007 and the dual‑part Hyper Yo Ban 3 in 2007. In 2012, hy4_4yh issued the fifth studio album Hyper Yo Ban 4 on May 16, alongside the compilation Hyper Single Collection +2: The Early Days 2008–2010 on November 21, consolidating its early catalog. The 2013 single "ティッケー大作戦!〜YAVAY/HYPER TICKEEE QUEENの歌" and the 2014 album Star☆Ting (released January 29, 2014) showcased a shift toward dance and rock elements. Subsequent releases included the 2015 single "Love Genome / Tengoku ⇔ Jigoku" and the 2016 major‑label debut Yavay on August 10.
