Hot House, an English soul music band featuring Heather Small, Martin Colyer and Mark Pringle, emerged in 1987. The group initially gained attention with the release of "Don't Come To Stay" on De Construction Records in January 1987, which peaked at Number 74 in the UK Singles Chart. Despite not reaching the UK Top 40, the single earned them critical acclaim and led to recording sessions for their debut album South at Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Alabama, featuring the single "Crazy". In 1990, Hot House released their second and final album Movers & Shakers, which included the single "Losing The Feeling". Following the release of Movers & Shakers, the band disbanded. Martin Colyer and Mark Pringle later became directors of Rock's Backpages, an online library of music journalism, while Heather Small went on to greater success with M People.
