HjaltalÃn, an Icelandic rock band from Reykjavik, was formed in 2004. The group gained initial attention through participation in the MH, ÃðrÃk algaula song contest and later appeared on the television program Kastlójs as a quartet. Their breakthrough came at the Iceland Airwaves festival in 2006, with SigrÃður Thorlacius joining as lead vocalist. In 2007, HjaltalÃn released their debut album Sleepdrunk Seasons on Kimi Records. Their second album, Terminal, was released in 2009 and won the Icelandic Music Awards for Pop Album of the Year. HjaltalÃn continued with Enter 4 (2012) and Days of Gray (2013), which served as a soundtrack to the film of the same name. The band also released an album titled HjaltalÃn in 2020 through crowdfunding.
