Hiromasa Shimizu (born October 16, 1990 in Shibukawa City, Gunma Prefecture) is a Japanese enka singer. Although he was born without eyesight due to retinopathy of prematurity and is totally blind, he became familiar with enka songs from his childhood under the influence of his grandparents and was recognized early on for his singing ability. She began singing at a local hot spring resort, attracting attention in the community. At the age of 16, she participated in "NHK Nodo Jiman" and became the champion, and the following year she won the grand champion competition as well. This led to her scouting by composer Tetsuya Gengen and lyricist Takashi Taka, who were judges, and she made her debut with TAICHIKU ENTERTAINMENT in 2008. The single "Hida River Love Song," released on October 22, 2014, was a hit with its melancholy melody and Shimizu's delicate voice.
