Biography
Hi-5 was a Greek-Cypriot pop girl band formed in Athens, Greece, through the reality TV show Popstars in 2003. The group consisted of Marlain Angelides, Frosso Papacharalambous, Nancy Stergiopoulou, Irini Psichrami and Shaya. Hi-5's breakthrough came with their debut single "Ksero ti Zitaw", released by Warner in 2003, which was certified gold that June. Their self-titled debut album (2003) reached Number One in Greece and was eventually certified platinum for shipments exceeding 40,000 copies. Their popularity began to decline after a controversial live performance where they were booed and had yogurt thrown at them. The band disbanded in 2005 following the closure of their record label.
