Hayley Hutchinson is an English folk and acoustic rock singer-songwriter who was born in 1981 in Northumberland. She is the daughter of John Hutchinson, a musician who performed with David Bowie. Hutchinson spent her childhood in Scotland before moving to York during her teenage years. She has released four solo albums and co-fronts the group The Sorry Kisses alongside Sam Forrest of Nine Black Alps. Her professional recording career began with the release of the single âHere's the Loveâ (2005). Her debut studio album, Independently Blue, was released in 2005 and recorded in less than a week in a York studio. Hutchinsonâs music received regular airplay and praise from BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2. In 2008, she released the album Love Songs for the Enemy, which was recorded during the winter in the German Black Forest. Her third solo album, Ghosts in the Trees, was released in 2010. She produced and recorded the recording at her home in the Yorkshire Wolds. In addition to her solo work, Hutchinson co-wrote and recorded the song âPocket Full of Starsâ (2007) with Nine Black Alps for the film Surf's Up. With The Sorry Kisses, she released the albums Hard Drive (2008), Um and Ah (2009), and Keep Smiling (2011). Her music has been featured on television programs including Grey's Anatomy, which utilized her song âAbandon Shipâ in 2010. Hutchinson has performed at major festivals such as Glastonbury and South by Southwest.
