Biography

Hamza Namira, born  November 1,  1980 in Egypt, is an Egyptian singer‑songwriter and multi‑instrumentalist. He began learning guitar, keyboard, and oud at 17 and later studied commerce at Alexandria University, graduating in 2003. After playing with Nabil Bakly’s band and forming his own group Nomaira, he released his debut album Dream With Me (2008), followed by Insan (2011), which coincided with the Arab Spring and propelled him to national prominence. In 2014 he released the single "Wa Ollak Eh", criticizing the post‑coup climate, and in 2016 launched the weekly TV series Remix on Al Araby. His discography expanded with Hateer Min Tany (2018), Mawloud Sanat 80 (2020), and Qarar Shakhsy (2025). Notable singles include "Aytah" (2018), "Reyah El Hayah" (2023), and "Shams W Hawa" (2025). Namira’s work, marked by sociopolitical themes, earned him the title “Voice of the Revolution” and led to chart success such as "Dari Ya Alby" topping streaming sites for nearly a month.
