Biography

Hajime Tachibana is a musician, graphic designer, and filmmaker born on October 28, 1951, in Tokyo. Drawing on techno-pop, new wave, and rock, he has developed a unique style that bridges music and design. In 1975, he formed the band Plastics with Toshio Nakanishi and others, performing as a guitarist before making his solo debut in 1982 with the album “H” (1982). He followed this with “Hm” (1983), “Mr.TECHIE & MISS KIPPLE” (1984), “TAIYO・SUN” (1986), and “BEAUTY & HAPPY” (1987), among others, and is known for tracks such as “H (THEME FROM CLUB FOOT)” (1982), “ROBIN’S EYE VIEW OF CONVERSATION” (1982), and “CHICKEN CONSOMME” (1986). He has also created numerous works as a designer and won the ADC Award’s top prize in 1991. He continues to be active in both music and art today, having released the track “Let’s Just Think About Ourselves (Remixed by Cornelius)” in 2026.
