Hagfish, an American rock band from Sherman, Texas, formed in 1991 when brothers Zach Blair and Doni Blair met drummer Banning Lyon. The trio initially performed locally, opening for bands like All and Swervedriver. Their album, Buick Men, was released in 1993 on Dragon Street Records. In 1995, Hagfish signed to London Records and released their second album, ...Rocks Your Lame Ass, which featured the singles "Stamp" and "Happiness". The band toured extensively with acts like Bad Brains and Everclear, gaining significant traction in the alternative rock scene. Despite critical acclaim, including being voted best Alternative Rock/Pop act by the Dallas Observer in 1996, Hagfish faced label issues leading to their departure from London Records. Their self-titled album was released in 1998 on Honest Don's Records. The band continued with live performances and releases until disbanding in 2001.
