Guillermo José Dávila Ruiz was born on 18â¯Marchâ¯1955 in Caracas, Venezuela, and began his artistic career as a singer and actor. Early work in the 1970s included stage performances with the theatrical group Arte de Venezuela and a leading role in the Venezuelan adaptation of Godspell, which helped him develop a presence in musical theatre. His first major breakthrough in music came in 1980 with a guest appearance on the telenovela Natalia, followed by the release of his debut album Guillermo Dávila in 1983, which featured the hit single "Solo pienso en ti". Subsequent albums, including Un Poco De Amor (1983) and Definitivamente (1984) expanded his repertoire of romantic pop ballads such as "Cuando se acaba el amor" and "Tesoro mÃo" (duet with Kiara). A compilation, 32 Grandes Exitos (1997), compiled his most successful tracks and solidified his status in Latin pop. Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Dávila continued to perform internationally, touring Latin America, Europe, and the United States, and he participated in television projects, including La voz Perú in 2021.
