Eddie Collins, known professionally as Greydon Square, was born on September 28, 1981, in Compton, California. Raised in foster homes after being orphaned at a young age, Collins taught himself to play the piano by nine and later joined the Tragniew Park Compton Crips gang, leading to his arrest and incarceration at Sylmar Juvenile Hall. After serving in the Iraq War with the 82nd Airborne Division, he began studying computer science at Arizona State University, where he adopted atheism. In 2004, under the name Apocalypse, Square released his debut album Absolute. His first major release as Greydon Square was The Compton Effect in 2007, followed by The C.P.T. Theorem in 2008. These albums explored philosophical and political themes, reflecting his experiences in Iraq and his atheistic views.
