Biography

Grand Mother’s Funck, an eight-member funk band from Switzerland, was formed in 1993 in Burgdorf, including Bernhard Häberlin and Daniel "Booxy" Aebi. Grand Mother’s Funck released their debut album Grand Mother’s Funck in 1995, followed by Please Baby Please Baby Baby Please in 1996 on Greaboy Records. The band's subsequent releases included Heebie Jeebies Dance (1997), Secrets in Sonic Space (2002), and Beat Mondial (2005). Notable guests included Sandy Patton, Trudy Lynn, Juan Mungía, Noel McCalla, Matthieu Michel, Paola Jean, Raphael Jakob, Famara, Nilsa, and Akil the MC. The band's live performances were documented in albums such as Working Live! (1999) and In Sonic Space – Live (2003). Subsequent albums include The Proud Egyptian (2011), Take the Money (2017), and The Big Pie (2020).
