Girls Under Glass, a German electronic music and electro rock band, was formed in Hamburg in 1986 by Thomas Lücke, Hauke Harms, and Volker "Zaphor" Zacharias. The group began as a gothic rock band but quickly expanded their sound to include metal and various forms of electronic music. Their first live performance took place at the Kir disco in Hamburg in May 1986, followed by the self-produced demo tape The Question - The Answer - Pop. In 1987, they released "Tomorrow Evening" on the compilation album Gore Night Show, marking their first vinyl release. Their debut album, Humus, was produced by Christian Mevs of Slime and released in March 1988. Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, Girls Under Glass gained prominence with albums like Flowers (1990) and Positive (1991). Notable singles include "Ten Million Dollars" (1989) and "Never Go" (1990).
