Girls' Generation-TTS, also referred to as TTS, emerged as the pioneering sub-unit of the renowned South Korean girl group Girls' Generation, initiated by SM Entertainment in 2012. Comprised of three Girls' Generation members - Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun, their debut EP, Twinkle, made its debut on April 30, 2012, marking the first album by a Korean artist to claim the top position on the Billboard World Albums chart, while simultaneously charting on the Billboard 200, reaching number 126. Following this, TTS achieved the distinction of being the first subgroup to clinch a "triple crown" on South Korean music shows by holding the number 1 spot for three consecutive weeks. Their remarkable success landed them the Album of the Year (2nd Quarter) award at the Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards and in September 2014, the group released their second EP, Holler, which debuted at Number 1 on both South Korea's Gaon Album Chart and the Billboard World Albums chart, earning them the 2015 Bonsang award at the Golden Disc Awards and the Seoul Music Awards, respectively. In December 2015, TTS unveiled their third EP, titled Dear Santa – Xmas Special. Initially landing at number 2 on South Korea's Gaon Albums Chart, the album saw a resurgence in popularity in 2023, returning once again to the Top 100.
