Born on April 7, 1952 in Montreal (Canada), he is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and rock singer from Quebec. He began his career with the group Someone from 1966 to 1971. Later, as guitarist, he accompanied the Liette et François duo, the Séguin duo and Jacques Michel. Michel encouraged him to launch a solo career, which he did in the autumn of 1972 with the album Chansons Pour un Café . At the end of 1973, he released the album Deuxième Arrêt, with the hits "Je suis cool " and "La Vie en rose ". In 1974, he represents Quebec at the Spa Festival in Belgium. In 1975, he released his third album, Du Même Nom . The songs "Fais attention", "Jamais rien dit" and "Pardonne-moi" hit the Quebec charts. Gilles Valiquette released four more albums between 1975 and 1980. He also toured Europe in 1977, Louisiana and Ontario in 1978 and 1979. He played the role of the newsreader in the first Quebec version of Starmania in 1980. In the '80s, he also opened a musical instrument business, while composing for film, television, theater, ballet and show business. He has produced several albums in his career for Daniel Lavoie, Gilles Rivard, Nicole Martin, Paul Piché, Pierre Bertrand, Plume Latraverse and Richard Séguin. In 2015, he released the album P.S. I Love Uke, in which he pays tribute to the Beatles as well as the ukulele. The record follows the discographic journey of his book C'est Fou Mais C'est Tout , which he launched in November 2014.
