Ghost Town Blues Band is an American blues and blues rock band formed in 2009 in Memphis, Tennessee. Frontman Matt Isbell began playing guitar at a young age and later formed his first band, The Blind Venetians, with Taylor Orr. After graduating, Isbell released a solo album, Rock Lotto, and then formed Ghost Town Blues Band. Their debut album, Dust the Dust (2010), won the European Independent Music Label Award for âTop Soundâ in blues. Subsequent albums include Dark Horse (2012) and Shine (2019), with Shine reaching number 1 on the US Billboard Top Blues Albums chart. The band has opened for notable acts such as Steve Miller Band, John Mayall, and Kebâ Moâ. They have also received recognition with second place in the International Blues Challenge in 2014 and wins in the International Songwriting Competition in 2015 and 2022.
