Rising to fame after a standout performance on U.K. platform Bl@ckbox, Reading-based rapper Songer (born in 2000) gained prominence in the late 2010s with his lyrically dense rap style, solidifying his position in the music scene through a consistent stream of album releases. His debut came in 2019 with Dream Workz, followed by subsequent albums: Lyrics for Sanity in 2020, The Sunrise Project in 2021, and SKALA in 2023 which swiftly claimed the top spot on the Official UK Charts for Hip-hop / R&B releases. Collaborating with acts such as Bad Boy Chiller Crew and Vibe Chemistry, the rapper has since been responsible for three of the most-watched Bl@ckbox freestyles, accumulating over 50 million streams on music streaming platforms. Following the success of SKALA, Songer released several non-album singles "Golden (Soul Food)," "Vino Bandit," and "TOXIC," with the latter securing a place on the top 100 singles charts in December 2023. Following the release of the album The Price of Therapy in 2024, Songer returned in 2026 with What If I Say No?, which reached number 66 on the UK Albums Chart.
