Gabi Novak, born Gabrijela Novak on July 8, 1936, in Berlin, was a Croatian pop and jazz singer. She began her music career in the late 1950s with the release of her first EP, Sretan Put, in 1959. Throughout the 1960s, she released several EPs and albums, including "Telegramm / Die Uhr" (1959) and Peva Gaby Novak (1960). In 1973, she married Arsen DediÄ, a singer-songwriter who composed many of her songs. Notable albums from the 1970s include Samo Žena (1974) and Gabi '77. (1977). Novak won several Porin awards: Best Jazz Performance (2002), Album of the Year, Best Female Vocal Performance, and Best Pop Album (all in 2003). Her final album, Pjesma Je Moj Život (2002), was recognized with multiple Porin Awards. Novak passed away on August 11, 2025, at the age of 89.
