Biography
Frontier Ruckus, an American band from Michigan, was formed by Matthew Milia and David Winston Jones. The duo began playing traditional bluegrass songs and Milia's early compositions while attending Brother Rice High School. Their album, I Am the Water You Are Pumping, was released in 2007. Frontier Ruckus gained local attention with positive reviews from Metro Times and Real Detroit Weekly. In 2008, they released their full-length album, The Orion Songbook, through Quite Scientific Records. The band toured extensively across the US and Europe, including performances at Slottsfjell Festival in Norway and Bonnaroo Music Festival. Their second album, Deadmalls & Nightfalls, was released in 2010 via Ramseur Records. In 2013, Frontier Ruckus released their third full-length record, Eternity of Dimming, followed by Sitcom Afterlife (2014), Enter of Dimming (2017), and On the Northline (2024).
