Biography
Franz Bartzsch, born on June 8, 1947, in Schmölln, was a German musician, singer, and composer. After training as an electrical fitter, he played with the Terosite Combo and later studied piano and dance music at the Friedrichshain Music School in East Berlin from 1968 to 1972. His early career included work with various groups such as the Gerhard Stein Combo and the Dresden Septet. In 1974, he co-founded Veronika Fischer & Band, where he served as musical director and contributed significantly as a composer and arranger to hits including âBlues von der letzten Gelegenheitâ and âAuf der Wiese.â In later years, he worked as a studio musician and composed and arranged for artists such as Udo Jürgens and Roland Kaiser, in addition to writing music for films including Hostess. Bartzsch passed away on January 5, 2010, in Berlin.
