Frank Bungarten, born on May 6, 1958 in Cologne, Germany, is a German guitarist. He began playing guitar at around age ten, influenced by rock music of the 1960s, and later performed jazz standards with a band formed by his high school teachers. Frank Bungarten studied at the Musikhochschule Köln and won first prize in the IV Concurso Internacional De Interpretacion Musical in Granada in 1981, which led to a Spanish tour. His career includes performances in over 40 countries, including venues like the Berliner Philharmonie and the Salzburg Festival. He has released several albums, such as Castelnuovo-Tedesco: 24 Caprichos De Goya Para Guitara, Op. 195 (1996) and Cancion y Danza (2004). Frank Bungarten has received numerous awards, including the Echo Klassik in 2005 and 2011, and the Opus Klassik in 2018 and 2020.
