Forest Sun, born Forest Sun Schumacher on August 6, 1973 in Glens Falls, New York, is an American singer-songwriter. In 1999, he founded Painted Sun Records and released his debut album Not Afraid. In 2001, he released Plenty, which received critical acclaim from AllMusic for its blend of rock & roll, progressive folk, and pop. Forest Sun performed at notable venues such as the Strawberry Music Festival and Shoreline Amphitheatre, opening for artists like Bonnie Raitt and Lyle Lovett. In 2003, he released For The Story, featuring guest vocals by Jolie Holland on the track "Always". He also hosted Songbird Radio on KWMR in Point Reyes Station, California. Forest Sun's subsequent albums include Walk Through Walls (2005), So Nice and Harlequin Goodnight (both 2008).
