Fly & the Tox, a French rock and rhythm and blues group from Toulouse, was formed in 1987 by Nicolas Cassagneau. The band initially included Marc Dechaumont on vocals and bass, and Michel Lorenzo on drums and percussion. Their first release, the cassette Magic Shoes, came out two years later in 1989. Fly & the Tox's debut studio album, Fly & the Tox, was released in 1991. The group gained a reputation for their energetic live performances across France and Europe throughout the 1990s. Their subsequent albums included Learning to Fly (1993), Des Mots (1995), and the live album Live...Dans Le Sud, recorded in September 1997 at venues in Montpellier and Toulouse. The band disbanded in 1998, with members pursuing solo careers or joining other formations. Nicolas Cassagneau passed away on December 29, 2017, due to cancer.
