Florian Wiek, born in Germany on January 1, 1972, is a pianist who began his musical journey as a scholarship-holder at Villa Musica in Mainz from 1994 to 1997. During this period, he performed chamber music with musicians such as Thomas Brandis and Ida Bieler. Wiek, along with his partner Justus Grimm, was selected for the 44th and 46th 'Bundesauswahl junger Künstler' in Germany, where they played numerous sonata recitals. In 2001, he performed Schumann's Piano Quintet in concert with violinist Ivry Gitlis. Wiek became a professor of piano and chamber music at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart in October 2004. His discography includes collaborations such as Mel Bonis: La Joueuse de Flute, released on January 1, 2008, featuring Tatjana Ruhland and the Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, and Chamber music with Trio Wiek, released on January 12, 2010.
