Biography

Veteran South Korean girl group Fin.K.L (Korean: 핑클) was one of the best-loved K-pop groups of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Formed by DSP Media in 1998, the group – comprising Lee Hyori, Ock Joo-hyun, Lee Jin and Sung Yu-ri – released four albums, before going on indefinite hiatus in 2003. Fin.K.L's debut LP, Blue Rain, emerged in 1998 and bucked the trend for upbeat pop with its focus on R&B balladry. White followed in 1999, spawning hit singles "Everlasting Love" (Korean: 영원한 사랑) and "Pride"(Korean: 자존심). Now arrived in 2000, peaking at Number 2 on the Korean chart, and Fin.K.L released their last studio album in the spring of 2002. Following their hiatus in 2003, the group made a comeback in 2005 and released digital single "Fine Killing Liberty," but by 2006 had all cut ties with DSP Entertainment. They spent the next decade forging their own solo careers in the entertainment industry. In May 2019, a Fin.K.L reunion variety show was announced, Camping Club, which featured the Fin.K.L members traveling around the country. In September 2019, Fin.K.L. released a new single, "남아있는 노래처럼 (Just Like The Song That Remains)"; their first release since 2005.
