Biography

Fernando de la Mora, born Fernando on June 7, 1958, in Ciudad de México, is a Mexican tenor. He studied voice at the Conservatorio Nacional and later opera in New York. De la Mora made his debut as Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly in Xalapa in 1986, followed by a performance as Borsa in Rigoletto at the Teatro del Palacio de Bellas Artes. In 1988, he was contracted by the San Francisco Opera to replace Luciano Pavarotti as Rodolfo in La Bohème. De la Mora's repertoire includes roles such as Don José in Carmen, Alfredo in La Traviata, and Cavaradossi in Tosca. He has performed at prestigious venues including the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Covent Garden, and Liceu. De la Mora received the Premio Jerusalén in May 2022 for his work supporting Israel and the Jewish people.
