Far Out Corporation was an Australian rock band formed in Brisbane, Queensland in November 1997. The group consisted of singer-guitarist Grant McLennan, drummer Ross MacLennan, bass player Adele Pickvance, and guitarist Ian Haug. Far Out Corporation began as a side project for most members, who were involved with other bands during hiatuses. Their debut performance was at the Occiput Hammerings music-arts project in early 1998. The band released their first and only album FOC in October 1998, produced by Tim Whitten and Far Out Corporation themselves. The album featured the CD single "Don't Blame the Beam" and was noted for blending pop sensibility with a more cerebral orientation. In late 1999, McLennan reformed The Go-Betweens and brought Pickvance into the new lineup. The band was disbanded by 2000. Grant McLennan passed away on May 6, 2006.
