Australian alternative rock band Faker, was formed in Sydney in 1996 by Nathan Hudson on lead vocals, piano and guitar. The group initially included Andrew Day on drums, Chris Deal on guitar, Paul Youdell on bass guitar, and Marco Fraietta on keyboards. They spent five years performing gigs around Sydney before releasing their four-track debut extended play, Sound Out Loud, in March 2001 via Wash Records/MGM Distribution. Faker's breakthrough came with the release of their debut studio album, Addicted Romantic, in June 2005. The album included notable singles such as "The Familiar" and "Hurricane", which peaked at number 62 and number 65 on the ARIA Singles Chart respectively. In November 2007, they released their second studio album, Be the Twilight, which featured the hit single "This Heart Attack", peaking at number 9 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The band toured extensively, including major slots at Australian outdoor festivals and joining Pink on the Australian Funhouse Tour dates in early 2009. In December 2011, they released their third studio album, Get Loved. Frontman Nathan Hudson announced the band's disbandment in 2013. Faker reformed in October 2020 and continued working on new music with Brazilian producer Adriano Cintra.
