Fabiano Anthony Forte, known by the stage name of Fabian, was born on 6 February 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A singer and actor who rose to prominence after performing several times on American Bandstand, Fabian's career began when he was discovered by Bob Marcucci and Peter DeAngelis of Chancellor Records in 1957. His first single, "Shivers", became a local hit in Chicago, leading to his appearance on American Bandstand, where he performed "I'm in Love". Fabian's breakthrough came with the release of "Turn Me Loose" in 1959, which peaked at number nine on the US charts. This was followed by hits such as "Hound Dog Man" and his biggest success, "Tiger", which reached number three on the US charts and sold over one million copies. His debut album, Hold That Tiger! reached the Top 15 within two weeks of its release in December 1959. Fabian's career included notable singles like "About This Thing Called Love" (1959) and String Along" (1960), as well as albums such as Rockin' Hot (1961) and Fabulously Grateful (1963).
