Exists, a Malaysian rock band formed in Johor Bahru in 1991, gained prominence with their 1991 single "Untukmu Ibu" and released their debut album, Exist, that same year. They followed up with Anugerah in 1993. In 1994, vocalist Muhammad Ali "Mamat" Kamarudin left to pursue a solo career and was replaced by Mohd Rohaizad Mohd "Ezad" Lazim. The band recorded their third album, Diammu Gunung Berapi, in 1995. In 2007, Ezad departed and was replaced by Zulkifli "Joey" bin Daud a year later. After the release of their 2008 compilation album Keunggulan, which included two new tracks sung by Joey, Exists went on an extended hiatus but reunited for the Throwback Exists concert in Singapore in 2016.
