Evening Hymns, a Canadian folk-rock band, was formed in 2007 by singer and songwriter Jonas Bonnetta. Originally from Orono, Ontario, Bonnetta released his debut solo recording, Farewell to Harmony (2007), under his own name before adopting the Evening Hymns moniker. Their first release under this name was Spirit Guides (2009), featuring a collection of sad and reflective songs. In 2012, Evening Hymns released their studio album Spectral Dusk, which included collaborations with Sylvie Smith. Bonnetta signed with Outside Music and the band released Quiet Energies (2015). Their discography also includes Heavy Nights (2020). Additionally, Bonnetta composed the music for Ryan Noth's film Drifting Snow (2021), marking his debut acting role.
