Sieges Even is a German progressive metal band from Munich. Formed in the early 1980s, they were initially known as Sodom, but changed their name in 1985 due to naming conflicts. The original lineup included Franz Herde on vocals, Markus Steffen and Markus Burchert on guitars, Oliver Holzwarth on bass, and Alex Holzwarth on drums. Their first demo Demo '86 (1986) showcased power metal roots. By 1987, they transitioned to progressive metal. Their debut album Life Cycle (1988) was released under Steamhammer Records. They released albums like Steps (1990), Sophisticated (1995), and The Art of Navigating by the Stars (2005). Their final release, the live album Playgrounds (2008), was followed by their disbandment in 2008 due to internal differences.
