Ettore Gracis, born on September 24, 1915, in La Spezia, Italy, was a conductor known for his contributions to classical music. He studied composition with Gian Francesco Malipiero and conducting under Antonio Guarnieri. Gracis began his career directing the Benedetto Marcello Instrumental Ensemble from 1942 to 1948, followed by leading the Orchestra of the Florentine Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. He then conducted the Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra in Milan from 1950 to 1959 and served as principal conductor at La Fenice in Venice from 1959 to 1971. Gracis also performed with international orchestras, including the Philharmonia Orchestra of London and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. He premiered many contemporary works during the Venice Biennale. Gracis passed away on April 12, 1992, in Treviso, Italy.
