Erick Rafilipomanana, known professionally as Erick Manana, is a Malagasy singer-songwriter and guitarist born in 1959. He began his career as part of the folk group Lolo sy ny Tariny with Hanitra before embarking on a solo journey. He also collaborated with Graeme Allwright. His breakthrough came with the release of Vakoka in 1997, which earned him the Prix de l'Académie Charles-Cros. Throughout his career, Manana collaborated with various artists, including Feo-Gasy, Rakoto Frah, Régis Gizavo, Dama from Mahaleo, Justin Vali, and Anna Tanvir. Notable albums include Razilinah, Bonjour Madame la guitare, Barikavily, Maty ilay masoandro, and Takalo with the Lokanga Köln Quartet. In 2013, he celebrated his 35th anniversary with a performance at the Olympia. Manana was also recognized with the Prix découverte RFI in 1994 and became Commandeur de l'ordre des arts et des lettres in 2013.
