Biography

A leading figure on the French jazz scene whose Parisian beginnings date back to the dawn of the 1980s, Breton trumpeter Éric Le Lann has collaborated with a wide range of musicians, extending his repertoire to worlds as varied as jazz fusion, traditional Breton music and electro. Heir to Chet Baker (whom he befriended in his later years) and Miles Davis, the musician and teacher has recorded some fifteen albums, including New York (1989), Cap Fréhel (1992), Live in Paris with Archie Shepp (1996), Origines et Jobim (2005), Portrait in Black and White (2006) and Le Lann - Top in duo with Jannick Top (2007). After forming a new quartet in 2009, he released the tribute I Remember Chet in 2013. His work also includes film scores such as Elsa, Elsa (1986) and Disparus (1999).
