Enzo Stuarti, born Lorenzo Scapone on March 3, 1919 in Rome, Italy, was an Italian American tenor and musical theater performer. Raised by monks at Monte Cassino Abbey after his parents fled to the United States, he joined them in Newark, New Jersey in 1934. Stuarti began his career under stage names Larry Laurence and Larry Stuart on Broadway, debuting in Hollywood Pinafore. He changed his name to Enzo Stuarti in 1954, at the suggestion of Ed Sullivan. His first album, We're Not Strangers, was released by Jubilee Records in 1957. Stuarti gained further recognition with a tribute album to Mario Lanza, released in 1964. He performed at major venues and appeared on television shows like The Tonight Show. Stuarti retired in 2004 and passed away on December 16, 2005.
