Biography

Los Teen Tops, a Mexican rock band formed in 1960, emerged during a period of significant cultural influence from artists like Bill Haley and Elvis Presley. The group initially consisted of Enrique Guzmán on vocals, Armando "Manny" Martínez on drums, and Jesús "Tutti" Martínez on lead guitar. They gained immense popularity by recording Spanish adaptations of American rock and roll hits, such as "Good Golly, Miss Molly" and "Jailhouse Rock". The band's debut album, Teen Tops, included hits like "Confidente de secundaria" and "Buen rock esta noche". In 1961, Enrique Guzmán left to pursue a solo career with the release of "Mi Corazón Canta", but Los Teen Tops continued with albums such as Vuelven los Teen Tops and Volumen III. The band's success extended throughout Latin America, Spain, and the United States.
