Emily Wells, born November 20, 1981 in Amarillo, Texas, is an American multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer, arranger, and producer. She began playing the violin at age four and started releasing her own recordings on cassette at thirteen. In 2006, she released her official debut album Beautiful Sleepyhead & the Laughing Yaks. The album The Symphonies: Dreams Memories & Parties followed in 2008 and featured bassist Joey Reina and drummer Sam Halterman. In 2012, she signed with Partisan Records and released the full-length album Mama, which included the single "Mama's Gonna Give You Love". Wells collaborated on material with Clint Mansell and composed a song for director Park Chan-Wook's movie Stoker. She also released an acoustic version of Mama in 2013.
