Biography
Elvir LakoviÄ, known professionally as Laka, was born on March 15, 1969, in Goražde, SR Bosnia-Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia. He began his musical journey by studying guitar at a local music school but left due to dissatisfaction with the teaching methods. During the Bosnian war, he served in the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Laka's breakthrough came with the release of "Malo sam se razoÄar'o" (1998), which launched his career nationally. Subsequent hits like "VjeÅ¡tica" and "Mor'o" further solidified his popularity. In 2003, he won the Bosnian Davorin Music Award for best rock song of the year with "Ja sam mor'o". Laka released his debut album Zec in 2007. He represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 alongside his sister Mirela with the song "PokuÅ¡aj" and served as a spokesperson for the contest in 2009 and 2012.
