Biography

Elmer Food Beat came out of nowhere in the summer of 1990 with the title track "Daniela", and became a veritable phenomenon with their slapstick rock. Made up of a group of buddies who love rock, sex and fun, Elmer Food Beat went from strength to strength. " Le Plastique c'est fantastique", "La Caissière de chez Leclerc" and "Est-ce que tu la sentir?" leave no doubt as to the band's intentions. The joke was short-lived, however, as the album 30 cm (1990) failed to chart. Je Vais Encore Dormir Seul ce Soir (1991) was no more successful, and Elmer Food Beat went back to basics. However, the band's energy and desire to have fun never left them, as demonstrated by 1997's Heureux sur Scène. In 2010, Elmer Food Beat released a new song, "Demande à Carla", which had nothing to do - promise, swear - with France's current First Lady. This track and all their most feminist songs are featured on the Merci les Filles compilation in 2012. The latter are still at the heart of their musical universe, as the group celebrates thirty years of existence with A Poil les Filles car la Vie est Trop Belle Quand Vous êtes..., their fifth album.
