Elizabeth Anka Vajagic, born in Montreal, Canada, is a Canadian musician whose music stands somewhere between classical songwriting, folk, blues, and post-rock. She began performing live in the mid-1990s. Her debut album Stand with the Stillness of This Day was released in 2004 by Constellation Records, followed by the EP Nostalgia/Pain in 2005. Vajagic's music is carried mostly by the interplay of her voice with the guitar, accompanied by few other instruments such as violin, harmonium, or percussion. Her singing style was frequently compared to artists like Patti Smith and PJ Harvey. Collaborations with local Montreal musicians, including Efrim Menuck of Godspeed You! Black Emperor and A Silver Mt. Zion, influenced her sound.
